The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is all set to set up a research centre at Patna. TISS was established in the year 1936 in Mumbai and right now has campuses in Tuljapur - Maharashtra, Guwahati and Hyderabad.
The research centre would be inaugurated by the director of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai Mr. S. Parasuraman on 6th March – 2016. Mr. Pushpendra Singh of TISS Research center Patna said that the students would be guided by the faculty of Tata Institute of Social Sciences and the main topics for research would cover:
- Primary education
- Migration of people from Bihar
- Mobilization of Backward Muslims
The research scholars would mainly focus on the reasons behind the migration of the people from Bihar for pursuing a better life and the condition of primary education in the state. The students will also be offered several short term courses. Plans for launching a winter program for the students of Bihar also are there. The winter program is likely to start in the month of September, focussing on Development and Migration.
TISS has decided to open the research centre at the premises of Delhi Public School – Patna.
