Aadhaar Number Mandatory for UPSEE 2017 Application
It is expected that online registrations for UPSEE 2017 might commence from January 15, 2017.
Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) announced that Aadhaar number is mandatory to fill Uttar Pradesh Sate Entrance Examination or UPSEE 2017 application form. However, the application process for UPSEE 2017 has not begun.
It is expected that online registrations for UPSEE 2017 might commence from January 15, 2017. As per sources, the examination is expected to take place on April 16, 2017. AKTU is the conducting authority for UPSEE 2017 examination, and the test will be carried out in offline mode.

UPSEE 2017 is a state level entrance that is being carried out every year for the admission to engineering, pharmacy, architecture, fashion, designing as well as PG programmes in computer applications. The examination is being carried out to fill up vacant seats for courses mentioned above in 841 institutes affiliated to AKTU. Lakhs of students take UPSEE examination every year.
According to sources, Vinay Pathak, Vice Chancellor of AKTU held discussions with the officials of the varsity regarding the modalities of UPSEE 2017 examination. It has been decided that the candidates need to enter Aadhaar number while filling the online application form.

Earlier, CBSE also made Aadhaar number mandatory JEE (Main) 2017 examination. The reason behind introducing Aadhaar number for filling online applications to eliminate impersonification and it is linked to the biometrics of applicants. CBSE is also planning to make Aadhaar number mandatory for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET 2017. However, official information about the same is awaited.
A series of other examinations will also make Aadhaar mandatory in the coming years, on the lines of CBSE.
