Admission Notice-IIT Gandhinagar Announces Admission for M.Tech Programs 2016

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar invites applications for admission to 2 years Master of Technology (M.Tech) program offered in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering for the academic session 2016-17.

Eligibility Criteria-

Candidates should have the minimum of 55% marks/ 5.5 (on a 10 point scale) in B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent in appropriate branches (50% marks for SC/ST).

B.Tech graduates from the IITs with CGPA/CPI of 8.0 or above (on the scale of 10) would be eligible for admission without having to appear in GATE.

How to Apply -

Candidates can apply online at the University

There is no application fee.

Candidates need not send the hard-copy of the application form.

If candidates are applying for more than one discipline, please submit a separate application form for each discipline. On successful submission of the application form, a confirmation screen will appear with a link to download the submitted application form.

Candidates need to furnish hardcopy of the application form and all the relevant documents at the time of interview. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

Selection Procedure-

Admission is generally offered on the basis of a written test and interview. The institute will invite a limited number of candidates for a written test and interview based on the academic records and/or GATE score.

Scholarship-

Eligible candidates -will receive a monthly scholarship of Rs.12,400/-. The students in PGDIIT/ M.Tech on the part-time basis will not receive any stipend/ scholarship.

Travel Scholarships: Institute encourages M.Tech students to present their research work at national and international conferences, and provides travel Scholarships of up to Rs. 60000/- to such students.

Web announcement of short-listed candidates: Thursday, April 21, 2016.

Date of test and interview: Sunday, May 15, 2016, to Thursday, May 19, 2016.
