Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar invites application for admissions to the Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) Program for the 2016 session.

This is a fully residential program and the regular candidates will stay on campus. As far as the external candidates are concerned, the residential requirement for them is minimum one year. But for candidates belonging to the Faculty Development Program, there is a 2-year residency required after they complete one year (advanced admission).

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must have a minimum of 5.5 CPI or 55% marks in B.Tech./ M.A./M.Sc./M.Tech. or equivalent degree in appropriate branches. Above mentioned eligibility criteria is minimum at Institute level.

Candidates need not send the hard-copy of the application form.

If candidates are applying for more than one discipline, please submit a separate application form for each discipline. On successful submission of the application form, a confirmation screen will appear with a link to download the submitted application form.

Selection Procedure

Admission is generally offered on the basis of an interview. (This is supplemented by a written test if necessary) The institute will invite a limited number of candidates for a written test and interview based on the academic records, statement of purpose, etc. The final selection will be on the basis of academic credentials, written test, and/or interview.

Financial Support

Students joining the Ph.D. program as regulars (RR) will be considered for Institute Fellowship based on the following norms:

Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science with NET/GATE Qualification or Graduate Degree in Professional Courses (B.Tech/B.E.) with NET/GATE Qualification or Post Graduate Degree in Professional Courses (M.Tech/M.E. etc): Rs. 25,000/- per month

Qualifications mentioned above with two years of research experience: Rs.28,000/- per month.
