Admission Notice - NIMHANS, Bangalore Announces Admission for PG Medical Programs 2016

The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore invites applications for admissions to the Master of Chirurgical (M.Ch), Master of Science (M.Sc) in Psychiatric Nursing, Masters in Public Health (MPH), Master of Philosophy (M.Phil), Doctor of Medicine (DM), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) for the year 2016.

There are many PG Medical programs carrying various specializations that are offered here. The DM is 3 years program; M.Phil, M.Sc, and MPH courses will be two years; while the Ph.D. and M.Ch programs will be between 3 to 5 years.

Eligibility Criteria

For M.Ch. Degree in Neurosurgery: Candidate should have post MBBS degree or post MS/DNB degree.

M.Sc. in Psychiatric Nursing: Candidate should be a registered nurse & midwife with any State Nursing Registration Council with the minimum passing of B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks from an Institute recognized by INC with a minimum of one year experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing as on the day of counseling.

For DM Program: Candidate should have MD/DNB degree in respective specializations.

How to Apply

The online application can be filled for this program. The application fee is Rs.1500/- per program (Rs.1000/- per program for SC/ST candidates). The payment is to be made online only with debit / credit cards and / or online transfer.

Selection Procedure

The University conducts an online entrance test and interview for selecting the eligible candidates.

Important Dates

Last date for online submission of application: January 31, 2016 (Sunday)

Date of online entrance test: March 26, 2016 (Saturday); and March 27, 2016 (Sunday)

The date of interview & counseling: 1st week of June 2016.
