The exam is going to be held from 8th January 2017 onwards, to fill up 440 different positions in the engineering field. The posts have become vacant in different categories like Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

The admit card can be downloaded from the website of UPSC while entering all the relevant information of the candidate as follows:
- Image code
- Registration number
- Date of birth
After filling up all the information, and hitting the submit button, the admit card will be displayed on the screen of the computer. Download the admit card and take a printout from there. Candidates are advised to examine all the details mentioned on the admit card such as name of the candidates, address of the candidate, photograph and address of the test centre allotted as well as test schedule. If there are any mistakes or discrepancies, they are advised to contact the concerned centre beforehand.

Candidates have to carry the admit card into the examination hall. Without the admit card they will not be allowed to appear for the examination. The hall tickets should be presented to the invigilator for all the necessary verification.
The hall ticket is non-transferable to others. It is an important document and candidates are advised to preserve and produce the same at the time of interview in the later stages of selection process.
For appearing in the exam, a candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not cross the age of 30 years as on the 1st January 2017. However, there is some relaxation for candidates belonging to ST/SC and OBC category; 5-year relaxation for SC/ST candidates & 3-year relaxation for OBC candidates.
