- The decision will not be taken without consulting the stakeholders and schools involved.
- Early commencement of Board exams will also ease up UG admissions.
In order to prevent the anomalies in Board Exam result and chaos regarding retotalling, the CBSE Board is considering preponing the board exams schedule. Officials from the board have stated that the decision regarding advancing the class 10 and 12 board exams schedule will not be taken without consulting the stakeholders and schools involved.
CBSE is planning to start the board exams a month prior to the usual schedule from 2018. If the plan is implemented, students of Class 10 and Class 12 will be appearing for board exam in the month of February instead of March.
Early commencement of Board exams will also smoothen the undergraduate admission procedure. UG admissions at different universities usually start after CBSE announces the Class 12 board exam result.
A CBSE official stated that a proposal has been drafted regarding the same and is in its initial stages. Various processes will be taken into consideration before finalising the decision of conducting board exams from mid-February, the official added.
