The AFCAT exam was held in two shifts on February 20, 2021. The AFCAT exam or Air Force Common Admission Test is conducted by the Indian Air Force twice a year in the months of February & September for recruitment to Class-I Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical). The February 20th AFCAT morning shift was conducted from 9:45 AM to 11:45 AM while the second shift was held from 2:15 P.M. to 4:15 P.M. Provided below is the section-wise analysis for AFCAT 2021 Feb 20 Shift 1:

General Awareness Analysis

The overall difficulty level of the General Awareness section of AFCAT 2021 Shift 1 was easy. The questions were based on Indian and international events as well as on the present political scenario of the country. 

Verbal Ability Analysis

About 7 questions in AFCAT 2021 Shift 1 Verbal Ability section were asked on error spotting and error detection followed by 6 questions on synonyms and antonyms. Other important topics asked in this shift were cloze texts, idioms and phrases, and reading comprehension with 5, 3, and 1 questions asked from these topics respectively.

Questions asked on reading comprehension and idioms and phrases were easy whereas other topics mostly constituted questions of moderate difficulty level. 

Numerical Ability Analysis

The Numerical Ability section of AFCAT 2021 Shift 1 was of moderate difficulty level. Candidates reported the questions to be somewhere between moderate to tough. Average, Speed and Distance, Simplification, Mixture and Allegation, Profit and Loss, Ratio and Proportion, and Time and Work were the most common topics in this section. 2 or 3 questions were asked from each of these topics.

Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test Analysis

It is reported that the Reasoning and Military Aptitude section of AFCAT 2021 Shift 1 was easy. Candidates revealed that the questions could be solved easily and were not difficult or tricky. Some of the common topics asked in this section were Pattern Completion, Venn Diagram, Analogy, and Odd one out with almost 5 questions from each of these topics.

The General Awareness section of AFCAT 20th Feb 2021 had a total of 25 questions and was of moderate difficulty level. The questions in this section were based on law, books, history, sports, mythology, geography etc. They covered major national and international topics.

Verbal Ability Analysis

The Verbal Ability section of AFCAT 2021 comprised questions based on synonyms, antonyms, error detection etc. The topic of Idioms was also covered and the meaning of 'To turn over the new leaf' and Bury the hatchet' was asked.

Numerical Ability Analysis

This section saw a total of 18 questions that ranged from easy to moderate difficulty levels. Topics that appeared in the exam were time-distance, Simple Interest, Profit & Loss etc.

Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test Analysis

The most number of questions were asked in the Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test. They were on Non-Verbal reasoning, Analogy, Embedded Figures, Odd-one out, Pattern Completion, Syllogism, Classification, Letter Series & Codes.
