AICTE Approved FDP by IIT Bombay Held at PCE

Poornima College of Engineering, Jaipur under the aegis of IIT Bombay organised four week AICTE approved FDP on “Use of ICT in Education for Online and Blended Learning” on 14th, 15th May; 4th, 5th June; 25th and 26th June 2016.

The FDP was designed as an MOOC (Mass Open Online Course) with some face-to-face sessions through the webinar. The Programme aimed towards empowering the teachers of professional colleges to use technology effectively and enhance the quality of education.

The Course primarily included following contents:

• Devices for information Capture, Storage & display
• The World of the internet & the web
• Content management system - Moodle & learning management system - Drupal
• Evaluation & spread of ICT education
• Real-time classroom assessment :Clicker Devices, Smartphones
• Audio-Video Recording, Spoken tutorial methodology
• Cumulative Performance Index Computation
• Academic Administration, Online grade submission

The Four week FDP was split into three components as follows:

• Online work by individual participants: Each participant was expected to access the online platform using a PC and had to spend 6 to 8 hours of efforts per week during the FDP.
• Team Assignment: A team of 3 to 5 members had to create and review the assignment and submit the same online. Each participant had to spend adequate efforts in a coordinated manner with other members of the team. It will be undertaken from July 11, 2016. After completion of 10 weeks of online activity and will have to be submitted before 5 August 2016.
• Face to Face Interaction: participants attended these sessions at their chosen Remote Centre established by IIT Bombay. The discussions and local tutorial sessions will be moderated by the workshop Coordinators appointed at each RC. Video Lectures were delivered through Webinar. Quizzes were held as a part of brainstorming session under this component of FDP.
