AICTE Lilavati Award 2022: Eight Colleges Bagged Top Spots

At the second AICTE Lilavati Award, eight colleges across India won the top prize. On March 8, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) organized the second edition of the Lilavati Awards. The list of winners college was announced by the Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Zubin Irani online.

Those Eight Colleges were selected for AICTE Lilavati Award in several areas such as Self Defence, Women, and Adolescent Health, Literacy and Life Skills, Sanitation and Hygiene, Women Entrepreneurship, Environment, Technology for Women, Legal Awareness, Women Innovators (Rural/ Urban).

As per the name of Great Mathematician Lilavati, this year a total of 27 teams including the faculty and non-faculty members and students of eight colleges got facilitated. The primary aim of this award was to empower women. Though 27 teams from eight colleges were rewarded, however, 500 teams participated in the AICTE Lilavati Award Program.

Professor MP Poonia, Vice President of AICTE; Professor Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of AICTE; Dr. Vinita Sahay, Director, Indian Institute of Management (Bodh Gaya); Professor Rajive Kumar, Member Secretary of AICTE; Mamta R Agarwal, Advisor-I of AICTE; were presented there in the AICTE Lilavati Award Program.

• Environment, Hygiene, and Sanitisation: Menstrual Hygiene, home, environment hygiene, etc.
• Women and Adolescent Health: Challenges associated with the pre-and post-natal complications, nutrition, breast/ovarian and cervical cancer, maternal mortality, depression and anxiety, confidence-building program, etc.
• Women Entrepreneurship: Business opportunities, financial safety, govt. Schemes etc.
• Self Defence: Girl Child Safety, Training Awareness program, domestic violence, workplace harassment, confidence-building program, etc.
• Literacy and Life Skills: Digital literacy, basic education, awareness against taboos, etc.
