AICTE Extends Tution Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme for PG Courses
AICTE will offer tuition fee waiver to students with family income less than Rs. 6 LPA. The scheme has been extended from bachelor's level courses to postgraduate courses including MCA, PGDM etc. for meritorious students.
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has now decided to extend its Tuition Fee Waiver scheme for the postgraduate courses. According to the scheme, 5 percent additional seats will be offered in each postgraduate course for the students belonging to the economically weaker and deprived section of the society. These students will not be required to pay the tuition fee.
The Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme was earlier available in bachelor’s, diploma and postgraduate diploma level. But now AICTE will offer the scheme in postgraduate courses such as PGDCA, PGDM MBA, and MCA courses.
AICTE TFW Scheme Eligibility Criteria
Students must satisfy the below eligibility criteria for Tuition Fee Waiver scheme
- The AICTE TFW scholarship will be offered to students who have a family income less than Rs. 6 lakh per annum.
- These students will be provided with a complete tuition fee waiver.
- The TFW scheme will available in all the AICTE recognised colleges and where no other scholarship is offered to the students.
- The waiver is only limited to tuition fee and students will have to pay all other expenses.
- Also, students who secure admission under the TFW scheme will not be allowed to change their course/branch later.

AICTE TFW Scheme Application Procedure
The application procedure for AICTE tuition fee waiver scheme is as follows -
- The TFW scheme will be applicable only after the 30% of the seats are filled in a course.
- A separate notification regarding the supernumerary seats will also be issued by the college or AICTE during each admission year. Candidates will be required to apply for the scheme after AICTE gives clarity on supernumerary seats.
- Students eligible for the TFW scheme will be required to submit an income certificate during the admission.
