AIIMS to Soon Come Up in Gujarat & Jharkhand

After the establishment of seven well developed AIIMS in different parts of the country, soon a new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will come up in the state of Gujarat. A home to top management, design and engineering colleges, Gujarat is working towards developing the medical education quality of the state.
According to the Union Health Minister, Mr. J.P. Nadda, the process of evaluation of framework to set up the medical institute has already begun. However, what is not clear as of now is that which municipal of Gujarat will get the opportunity to conduct and carry out the project.

While unveiling the budget for the year 2017-18, Union Finance Minister, Mr. Arun Jaitley had notified that along with Gujarat, Jharkhand would also be getting AIIMS soon.
Additionally, the Gujarat Chief Minister, Mr. Vijay Rupani has already suggested Rajkot and Vadodara areas for the setting up of AIIMS.
According to an official release, Mr. Nadda was with Mr. Vijay Rupani in Rajkot to lay the foundation of a super specialty hospital which would cost around Rs. 150 crores. This hospital is coming up under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthaya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY).
Moreover, 86 such super specialty hospitals are going to be materialised soon in different parts of the country. An estimated cost of Rs. 120 crore each for the development of these hospitals has been approved by the central government.

Mr. Rupani also announced that a new hospital will be built in place of the current women’s hospital in Rajkot. Each hospital would cost Rs. 60 crores and will have 500 beds.
