AKTU Holds 14th Convocation Ceremony, Girls Bag 60% Medals
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University organised its 14th convocation ceremony on January 23, 2017.
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University organised its 14th convocation ceremony on January 23, 2017. A total number of 68 medals were awarded to meritorious students who graduated from various engineering colleges affiliated to AKTU. A total number of 38 medals out of 68 were bagged by girls. Ram Naik, Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Chancellor of ATKU, delivered the convocation address.

On this occasion, he indicated that girls are performing well in academics which is a good sign of women's empowerment and it is time for the boys to watch out. He cautioned the boys that these numbers are just a wake-up call that indicates they need to secure the top place which is possible only through hard work. He also advised the boys to strive for success continuously and face all kinds of challenges. Students should not lose heart if they face failure.

Ayushi Agarwal from Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College bagged the Chancellor's gold medal. AKTU awarded Chancellor's gold medal for the first time. She has been awarded the gold medal for her exceptional and meritorious performance in all B.Tech examinations conducted by varsity. On this occasion, she revealed that she wants to clear GATE and pursue M.Tech in Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
On this occasion, VK Saraswat, a member of NITI Aayog was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate by Abdul Kalam Technical University in recognition of his exceptional services to the country.
