AKTU to Set Up Lucknow Chapter of Startup Accelerator India
SAI in Lucknow is the third chapter and will fund startups in Healthcare, Bigdata, and Edtech. It also funds Social Entrepreneurs.
The Vice chancellor of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Mr.Vinay Pathak announced that the university will set up the Lucknow chapter of Startup Accelerator India (SAI). The University is going to set up SAI to promote startups and incubate creative/ innovative ideas among the students.

The announcement was made at the inaugural session of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial Youth Conference. The conference was inaugurated on 26-July-2016. It was jointly organized by Kalam Centre and AKTU, Lucknow. The conference was organized on account of the death anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on 27-July-2016.
The university is going to sign MOU with SAI headed by Anand Govindaluri, Managing Director of SAI. SAI in Lucknow is the third chapter and will fund startups in Healthcare, Bigdata, and Edtech. It also funds Social Entrepreneurs. The other two chapters of SAI are operating in Pune and Visakapatman.
A competition which is called as Kalam Techno-Perineurial Business Plan Challenge will be conducted to invite ideas. The competition will be conducted to select the best ideas for funding.
The engineering students of the college, IITians, and medical students will be part of this great initiative. Around 40-50 ideas will be picked up for the event. Mr. Govundaluri has been appointed to the advisory board to mentor Kalam center.
