Allahabad University Seniors Conduct Free Civil Services Coaching Classes for Aspirants
Senior students and alumni from Allahabad University have come together to provide the students and aspirants who have been working towards cracking the civil services examination. The classes conducted by the seniors are undertaken on the corridors of the varsity with more than 200 students.
In a bid to bring back the glory of Allahabad University (AU), a group of seniors and alumni have joined hands to provide the students with free coaching classes on cracking Civil Services examinations. Years ago, Allahabad University was known for being the “factory producing Civil Services students”. However, in recent years, the varsity has been losing its shine.
The group of seniors and alumni from Allahabad University have decided to provide aspiring IAS officers with free coaching classes. Due to the lack of the necessary resources, the seniors conduct the classes on the corridor or the Student Welfare’s Dean’s office. The classes are conducted from 7 am to 9 am. The students who attend the classes are taught subjective knowledge and the multiple facets of General Studies.
Sources state that the lack of proper infrastructure and facilities does not stop the students from attending the classes as the methods and the potential of the seniors have attracted the students to the coaching classes.
Some of the seniors, such as Akash Singh, Philosophy Research Scholar teach the students different concepts in Philosophy. Meanwhile others like Anshu Singh teaches the students physics. Similarly, seniors and alumni have taken up the responsibility of teaching the students different subjects and topics common to civil services examination.

The classes had been launched a mere 10-11 days ago and have already seen the participation of more than 200 students. Sources state that the range of knowledge gained from the classes, which include the depth of knowledge along with the tips and techniques to improve one’s focus has resulted in the immense popularity among the students.

With such a response, the volunteers have approached several bureaucrats in the districts for further aid in promoting the classes among the students. With such an initiative, more students will be not only interested but also motivated to apply for the civil services examinations. The determination and the will of seniors and alumni is commendable.
