Amazon Emerges as Top Recruiter at IIM-A; Offers 18 Jobs
E-commerce giant Amazon shined at the recent campus placement of IIM-Ahmedabad. The firm rolled out 18 offers to final-year students at IIM-A and became the top recruiter of the session.
E-commerce giant Amazon shined at the recent campus placement of IIM Ahmedabad. The firm rolled out 18 offers to final-year PGP students at IIM-A and became the top recruiter of the session.
The statistics have been picked up from the unaudited report published by IIM-A. In order to maintain transparency, the institute will also publish an audited report as per the standards of the Indian Placement Reporting Standards (IPRS).
Over 100 companies took part in the final round of IIM-A placements. Other prominent recruiters at the institute were from the consulting sector including Accenture Strategy, McKinsey & Company, Bain & Company and The Boston Consulting Group. McKinsey & Company followed Amazon in the list of maximum recruitment with 15 offers.

A few first-time participants also hired from the institute including Pioneering Ventures, Flourish Foods, PepsiCo and Tilvila. More than 40 firms participated in the process for the first time, informed Asha Kaul, Chairperson of Placements Committee, IIM-A.
YES Bank, Reckitt Benckiser ADM and Amazon–Cloudtail were some of the firms that reinstated their confidence in the students of the institute and participated in the process. Other reputed forms that hired from IIM-A were Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, Kotak IB, Standard Chartered and JPMorgan.
The final placement process was held in two stages. The first stage was conducted to interview the students on the basis of their past experience and offer them mid-level managerial positions. The second phase was for profile-based selection.

Seven students of the institute also opted for the guidance and mentorship of Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) in order to start their own ventures.
