Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) has outdone the Delhi University (DU) in terms of cut-offs for undergraduate programmes in 2017. The cut-off for some of the programmes, including commerce and science, offered to students outside the National Capital Territory (NCT) was 100%.

The first cut-off for admission to Ambedkar University Delhi was released on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. The cut-off for commerce students outside NCT seeking admission in BA (Hons.) in Sociology, History and Psychology is 100%. Also, students from science background seeking admission in BA (Hons.) Sociology must have a perfect score.

However, students of arts background will be at an advantage during admissions 2017 as the cut-off for them is 4% less than the cut-off for students of science background and 5% less than the cut-off for students of commerce background for all subjects.

Admissions on the basis of first cut-off will be conducted from July 6 to July 8, 2017. AUD will declare the second cut-off list on July 10.

AUD offers UG Courses for the following 7 Subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • Sociology
  • Economics
  • History
  • English
  • Social Science and Humanities
  • Psychology

Amongst all the courses, B.A. (Hons.) in English is the only course for which the cut-off has dropped for students outside NCT. The cut-off for the programme dropped by 1.5% for students outside NCT, whereas, for students inside NCT the cut-off remained the same.

For students who are not able to secure a seat at either of the DU Colleges, AUD is seen as a ray of hope. The state university offers various undergraduate and post-graduate programmes.

In 2016, the university had decided to replace the cut-off system with merit lists of shortlisted students. However, AUD has resumed the old cut-off system for admissions 2017.
