Ambedkar University Delhi to Start New Branch at Karampura
AUD is all set to launch its second campus, i.e the Karampura campus from August 1.
After the first campus of Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD), comes its second campus. AUD has a campus in Kashmere Gate, Delhi. It will soon be launching its second campus in West Delhi, in Karampura. Currently, the college has about two hundred undergraduate students enrolled.
The classes at the Karampura campus are likely to start from August 1. The Karampura branch will only be entertaining undergraduates this year. According to an official of Ambedkar University, the Karampura campus will initially run only four UG courses on its campus. The building assigned to the Karampura campus was earlier used by a college of Delhi University.

The University plans to expand its boundaries and attract more and more students to its Karampura campus by starting with more UG and PG courses by the next academic year. According to estimates by Praveen Singh, Dean (Planning), the college will house about 2,200 students by the year 2019.
Some of the courses available at the new campus include:
- BA (Hons) in Economics
- English
- Psychology and Social Science
- Humanities
Currently, the Kashmere Gate branch of AUD is running 40 undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes.

Also, the University will expand itself by opening more and more campuses in Delhi. According to a University official, University is likely to open one campus in Rohini (Sector 3) and one campus in Dheerpur (Near Model Town and Mukherjee Nagar) by the year 2020.
The Karampura campus will be inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia.
University’s cut off for this year touched 100% for a few subjects. Despite reservation of 85% of the seats for the Delhi students, they were expected to score 100% in the commerce stream who want to study sociology and history at the university.
For non-Delhi students, the 100% cutoff is for five courses for commerce students.
