IIT Kharagpur MBA Students Bag High Salaries

Almost all the students of the Vinod Gupta School of Management at IIT Kharagpur have secured jobs worth an average salary of Rs 11 Lakh and that too in a record time of one week. In the recently concluded first phase of placements 102 students out of 103 got jobs and within a week the placement session was complete. According to the IIT officials the average salary was Rs 11 Lakh.
While 70% of the students secured jobs that were above Rs11 lakh the highest offer was that of 20.47 lakh per annum (CTC). The companies that participated in the placement session this year were IBM, Amazon, Tata Motors, Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd, Juspay, Deloitte, National Instruments, PWC, Wipro, ICICI bank, Axis bank, Virtusa, Cognizant and Rolls Royce etc. The highest number of students were recruited by Deloitte.
In January the placement process would enter into the second phase where more companies would be participating. Prof Prabina Rajib, Chairman, Placement committee of the management school said,” Last year we took 20 days to achieve this feat. This year, with the coordinated effort from the batch, we have been able to do this in less than half the time.”
IIT Kharagpur is ranked quite high in India and is also ranked among the top 100 in the world with a ranking range of 71-80 in the first edition of the QS Graduate Employability Rankings. Even in the parameters of ‘Graduate Employability Rate, ‘Employers’ Presence’ the institute has scored quite impressively.
