The education minister of the Bihar state has been made the director and the head of the AN Sinha Institute of Social Sciences. The education minister Dr. Ashok Chaudhary took the responsibility on April 20th, 2016.
Dr. Chaudhary is the 9th director and the head of the institute. Dr. Cahudhary in the ceremony said that he will try his level best in order to improve the condition of the AN Sinha Institute of Social Sciences – Patna.
The A.N. Sinha Institute of Social Studies, Patna was established by the Bihar Government in the memory of great educationist of his time, Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha, who was also considered as an architect of the modern Bihar.
The college was inaugurated in the year1958 on 31st January, by the first president of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
The institute was, although, made an autonomous statutory body in the year 1964 on 8th October, under the A.N. Sinha Institute of Social Studies, Act 1964.
The college is situated on a sprawling campus on the south bank of the river the Ganga and at a distance of 2-kilo meters from the Patna Railway Junction & in the North - West end of Gandhi Maidan at the Ashok Raj Path that is opposite to the Commissioner Office.
