<p>A twelve member Delegation from Government of Andhra Pradesh headed by Shri Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Hon’ble Minister for Human Resource Development, comprising of Vice Chancellors, Academicians, and Education Administrators, visited Amity University, Noida as to get the first-hand report on success story of the University. Government of Andhra Pradesh, in its pursuit, to promote Higher education at the Global level and set up private universities of global standards in the public-private partnership mode, selected Amity University for the visit. While addressing the gathering, Shri Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Hon’ble Minister for Human Resource Development expressed his delight in visiting Amity University and shared that the able and visionary Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh would like to make State –a Knowledge and Education Hub. He remarked that AP Government has proposed to bring legislation to permit establishment of private universities in the State and the draft bill is likely to be tabled during Cabinet meeting which is scheduled for August 17, 2015. He invited Amity to establish state of the art Private University in Andhra Pradesh, providing professional education enriched with Ethics and Integrity. Sumita Dawra, Principal Secretary, Higher Education, Andhra Pradesh remarked that the delegation is very impressed with the quality of education provided by Amity University. She briefed that an ‘Education City’ has been planned in Visakhapatnam through PPP mode wherein Private Universities would bring in investments and the Government will provide land and infrastructure. Dr. Atul Chauhan- Chancellor, Amity University appraised the distinguished gathering with the achievements of the University achieved within a short span of time since its establishment in 2006 and how fast Amity Group has grown in last 20 years with 8 Universities in the country providing quality education to lakhs of students. The members in the delegation included Ms. Udaya Lakshmi, Commissioner, CCE and CTE (Commissioner of Collegiate Education) and Commissioner of Technical Education, Sri. K. Lakshminarayana, IAS, Prof. P. Narasimha Rao, Vice Chairman, APSCHE (AP State Council of Higher Education), Prof. P Vijaya Prakash, Vice Chairman, APSCHE (AP State Council of Higher Education), Prof. K Raj Gopal, Vice Chancellor, SKU ( Srikrishna Devaraya University), Prof. V SS Kumar, Vice Chancellor, JNTU-K (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University), Prof. Y. Narasimhlu, Vice-chancellor, RU ( Rayalaseema University), Prof. Valli Kumari, AU ( Andhra University), Mr. Srinivas, CCE ( Commissioner of Collegiate Education), Mrs. Vimala, CCE ( Commissioner of Collegiate Education). Hon’ble Minister for Human Resource Development also interacted with Amity students who have come from Andhra Pradesh in the regional language. The Delegation was taken around the Campus and was shown the vast and topical infrastructure of Amity including the Central Library and Amity Innovation Incubator.</p>
