Andhra Pradesh: Adoption of Govt. Colleges by Corporates to be Delayed
Reputed corporates, Yes Bank, Efftronics, Canara Bank and Tata Institute of Social Services have come forward to collaborate with the state government in this programme.
The prestigious pilot project of the Government of Andhra Pradesh to give its government colleges in adoption to corporates is yet to take off. The Ministry of Human Resource and Development of the state has proposed to give all its colleges to the corporates to provide infrastructure and improve the quality of teaching. Reputed corporates, Yes Bank, Efftronics, Canara Bank and Tata Institute of Social Services have come forward to collaborate with the state government in this programme.

The ministry had initially proposed 100-degree colleges in the first phase and invited the corporates to shoulder the responsibility. The primary objective of the project is to set the standards in the colleges and make students industry-ready. Under this project, the companies will set a module for the students on various aspects and train them to meet industry requirements.

According to sources, the ministry tried to launch the project in the month of October. However, due to various reasons, the project is likely to take off in 2017. The HRD Ministry did not provide required information to the corporates.
The officials of the HRD Department responded over the delay and said that the programme is being redesigned and will be launched shortly.
