There are 487 B.Ed colleges across 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh. Recently, the government has granted permission for 149 new colleges. These colleges also took part in the counselling. This year, only 9,500 students took AP EDCET examination. The response was poor.

The principals of various colleges opined that most of the graduates did not show interest to join B.ed as the duration of course extended for two years.
