The Engineering aspirants of Andhra Pradesh are very disappointed with fee structure implemented by the Government for the academic years 2016-17, 2017-10 and 2018-19. The Government has hiked 15% of course fee. Most of the Engineering Colleges of Andhra Pradesh were offering Engineering Courses at minimum fee of Rs. 35,000 to 40,000 annually till last academic year. Now, the Government has increased the fee to Rs. 55,000 to Rs. 60,000 annually.
Though the Andhra Pradesh government has fee reimbursement scheme but it is not being carried out in an effective manner. The Government hasn’t released reimbursements for the past two years and crores of reimbursements are still pending. Second, third and final year engineering students are deeply disappointed with the new fee structure. Most of the students are from poor background and hence they can’t afford to pay Rs. 55,000 to Rs. 60,000 annually.
On the other hand, the Government has hiked the M.Tech fee to Rs. 1, 00,000. The M.Tech aspirants feel that the hike is too much and something poor students can’t afford to pay. Till the previous academic year, M.Tech fee was between Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 70,000.
Most of the colleges sent recommendations to Government to reduce the course and pleaded that the old fee structure should continue for the next two academic years. The Government is yet to take a decision. But most probably the new fee structure will be effective this academic year.
