Guidelines for Jagananna VidyaDeevena Scheme
Until 2018-19, the state government reimbursed Rs. 35,000 for B.Tech and B.Arch students. As per the revised rules, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to reimburse the full fee for the benefit of students. However, students must note that the reimbursement is applicable irrespective of the exact fee structure of the college.
For example, if a student of any of the above-mentioned categories pays Rs. 80,000 as tuition fee for B.Tech course, the state government will reimburse the full amount. The average B.Tech fee in Andhra Pradesh engineering colleges is around Rs. 40,000 – Rs. 65,000. Therefore, the reimbursement hike will benefit the students, particularly from economically weaker sections.
The state government formed a nine-member committee to fix the reimbursement amount for B.Tech and B.Arch courses. The committee proposed Rs. 65,000 as the reimbursement amount for these courses. However, after several deliberations, AP HRD Minister, Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao approved Rs. 45,000 as the reimbursement for engineering and architecture courses.
