Andhra Pradesh: Second Phase of Medical Counselling from September 24
A total number of 600 additional MBBS seats would be added as four new medical colleges get approval.
Kamineni Srinivas, Minister of Health, Andhra Pradesh announced that the second phase of medical counselling for admission to MBBS/BDS course would commence from September 24, 2016. The counselling process will continue till September 26, 2016. He said that a total number of 600 additional MBBS seats would be added as four new medical colleges have got an approval. Out of these, 300 seats will come under general category. He further added that the additional seats would benefit the students.

The counselling for B-category seats will take place on September 26 and 27, 2016. The seats will be allotted on September 28, 2016. The minister assured that the government would take all the necessary precautions to avoid mistakes in the admission process. He mentioned that if any college is found misleading the students during the allotment of seats, stern action will be taken against such colleges.

The counselling will be held at Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada. The first phase of counselling concluded in the first week of September amid chaos where most of the students and parents protested against the authorities of the university. They alleged that the university was selling B-category seats to the students of other states.
