Andhra University to Sign MoUs with Indian Army to Set up Centre for Defence Studies
- The MoU between Andhra University and Indian Army will be signed on July 26, 2018 for the establishment of Centre for Defence Studies.
- The centre will impart various defence related courses to personnel of all the tri command forces.
Andhra University will sign five Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Army at Sena Bhavan on 26th July 2018 for the establishment of a Centre for Defence Studies. The MoU will be signed at the campus of Andhra University followed by a meeting with Bipin Rawat, the Army Chief General.
G Nageswara Rao, Vice- Chancellor, Andhra University, Kumar Raja, Member of All-Academic Senate and Ujjwal Kumar, the Adviser of Defence Joint Education Programme will sign the MoU on the behalf of varsity in Delhi. As per the reports, the Andhra University officials will leave for Delhi on July 23, 2018.

Ujjwal Kumar, Academic Adviser of Defence Joint Education Programme said that the proposal regarding the Centre for Defence Education was offered by the varsity itself. The centre will impart various defence related courses to personnel of all the tri command forces. At present, there are over 1500 army personnel pursuing various diploma and training courses at the Andhra University.

The varsity has signed many MoUs since the initiation of defence joint education department at the university. Andhra University has signed two pacts with Indian Navy, seven pacts with Airforce and 13 pacts with Director General of DGR for various certificate, diploma and training programmes.
