Anna University Continues to Conduct TANCET for M.E./M.Tech Admissions 2019
Anna University Vice-Chancellor M. K. Surappa has informed that the university will continue to organise and conduct the TANCET- Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test for M.E./M.Tech admissions this year as well.
Anna University Vice-Chancellor M. K. Surappa has informed that the university will continue to organise and conduct the TANCET- Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test for M.E./M.Tech admissions for this academic year as well.
Until last week, there was a lot of confusion as Anna University proposed to organise a special entrance examination for admission to ME. M Tech, MCA, and MBA courses for its affiliated colleges. This lead to anxiety among the students regarding the admission procedure for other colleges apart from Anna University and who will conduct TANCET.

According to the reports, the differences of opinion between Anna University and Tamil Nadu State Government of Higher Education started with the issue regarding the admission and counselling process for B.E. and B.Tech courses. This year several changes were made in by the TN State Government Department of Higher education. According to the new order, the Director of Technical Education was appointed as the Chairman of Admission Council. Also, the responsibility of conducting TANCET 2019 and the counselling for admission to all the engineering courses will be taken care by the TN the Directorate of Technical Education.

TANCET is a state-level entrance exam which is conducted and organised by Anna University every year on the behalf of Tamil Nadu Government. The TANCET entrance test is conducted separately for admission to M.E./M.Tech, MCA and MBA courses. Last year, over 37,000 candidates appeared in the entrance exam.
