Anna University Signs MoU with IIT-Madras to Facilitate Student Exchange
Anna University and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras have entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote student exchange programmes.
Anna University and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras have entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote student exchange programmes. The aim of the collaboration is to provide students with a diverse experience.
The exchange programme will start from next semester under which Anna University will send 100 of its students to IIT Madras. Final year undergraduate students and postgraduate students will be eligible to pick the elective course offered at IIT Madras.

Various courses will be offered at IIT Madras out of which the students can choose a course according to their area of interest. Under this collaboration, IIT Madras students can also select courses offered by Anna University.
Talking about the formal MoU signed by the two institutions, J. Kumar, Director, Centre for Planning and Development, Anna University said that this student exchange programme will help students to get a diverse education and exposure.
He also added that the programme will also benefit the students of IIT Madras as Anna University specialises in departments like printing technology, mining and remote sensing. The MoU will be signed later this week.
Before shortlisting any course in either of the institutions, the students will have to get approval from the respective director of academic courses.

The infrastructure and resources at both the institutions can be utilised for the benefit of the students and promote inter-institution learning. Student exchange programmes can also help in promoting joint teaching programmes. For every programme offered at IIT Madras, only five to ten students will be shortlisted.
