Anna University to Change the Question Paper Pattern for Engineering Courses
The committee suggested that some changes have to be brought in the evaluation process.
Anna University has decided to change the question paper pattern for all the engineering courses. The changes in the format of question paper will be applicable to all the affiliated engineering colleges of Anna University. There are 550 engineering colleges in Tamilnadu. Out of these 13 colleges are self-administered and the remaining colleges come under the affiliation of Anna University. All these colleges follow the syllabus and pattern prescribed by Anna University.

A committee has been set up regarding the changes that have to bring in the pattern. The committee mentioned that most of the engineering graduates remain jobless even after the completion of course. The committee suggested that some changes have to be brought in the evaluation process.

The colleges have been following the pattern which was designed in the year 2013. According to the 2013 pattern, there were 20 questions in the question paper and each question carries 2 marks and 5 questions which carry 16 marks each.
According to the changed pattern, the question paper for the 2nd year students contains 10 questions which carry 2 marks each. The question paper also contains a case study which has to be read and analyzed by the students. The university has directed all the colleges to follow the new pattern from this academic year.
