Anna University Withholds B.Tech Semester Results of 30,000 Students

Anna University (AU) has withheld the first-year B.Tech semester results of over 30,000 students in 150 affiliated colleges. The first semester exams for B.Tech students of Anna University and its affiliated colleges were conducted in November/ December 2018. Almost 90,000 students from 500 affiliated colleges appeared for these exams. Anna University first-year B.Tech results (first semester) were out on February 15, 2019, and 30,000 students were unable to access the results.

According to sources, the results of 30,000 students have been withheld, as 150 affiliated colleges failed to complete the certificate verification process and pay the requisite fee. The results were withheld on the grounds of non-compliance to the rules and regulations of Anna University. It is the responsibility of the colleges to pay Rs. 1,200 per student.

Many students were shocked when their results and scores are not displayed on the official website of Anna University.

An official of Anna University pointed out that some colleges did not complete the certificate verification process. It has been six months since the admission process was closed, and the colleges failed to complete the process on time. The negligence of the college administration creates unnecessary confusion and nervousness among students. A similar issue was reported last year for the final-year results, and students who planned to study abroad suffered due to the delay in the announcement of results, he explained.

Anna University affiliated colleges must pay the requisite fee and complete the certificate verification process as early as possible.
