AP Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) Syllabus and Exam Pattern to Undergo Changes
- AP TRT is expected to take place in August/ September this year.
- The state government is planning to revise exam pattern and syllabus.
The state government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to bring some significant changes in the syllabus and pattern of TRT (Teacher Recruitment Test). This year, the state government is expected to conduct TRT, which is also known as DSC (District Selection Committee) exam. Even though the official notification for TRT is not out, the state education department may release the syllabus before the release of official notification.
After 2015, the state government did not conduct TRT exam. As per NCTE rules, it was mandatory to conduct TET to make candidates eligible for TRT. Instead of conducting TET and TRT separately, the state government conducts Teacher Eligibility cum Recruitment Test (TERT) by including TET syllabus in the recruitment test.

In February 2018, Council for Secondary Education (CSE) Andhra Pradesh conducted AP TET 2017 exam as per the directions of state government. As per TET notification, the state government will give 20% weightage to TET marks in TRT. It means, TRT will be conducted for 80 marks and 20 marks will be taken from marks scored by candidates in TET. This is one of the significant changes in the exam pattern of TRT.
Changes in AP TRT Syllabus:
- Instead of giving more weightage to Psychology, the state government will include ‘Perspective in Education’ in AP TRT. On the other hand, Psychology will be scrapped from TRT, and the same will be included in TET.
- ‘Application in Psychology’ is one more topic that will be included in AP TRT.
- ‘Classroom Psychology’ will be also another topic that will be included in AP TRT exam.
- There will be no change in the syllabus for methodology subjects.
