APSSDC and Internshala Collaborate to Provide Internship Opportunities to College Students
- Internship provider Internshala and APSSDC have collaborated to provide internship opportunities to students of colleges affiliated with the skill development body.
- Workshops, assistance in bagging good internships are some of the objectives and features of the MoU.
With an objective to provide training and internship opportunities to college students, APSSDC i.e. the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Internshala, a platform through which students can bag good internships.
Primary objectives of the collaboration:
- To improve soft skills of students
- To inculcate technical competency in students
- To prepare students in such a way so that they have an employment quotient
Features of the partnership between APSSDC and Internshala:
- The colleges registered with APSSDC will be at an advantage as the students will be provided complete assistance with respect to their training and internship needs. They will be able to explore their fields of interest and simultaneously churn out practical knowledge with the help of internships.
- Students will get an opportunity to step into the professional and corporate world with an access to over 1,00,000 internships (along with those with stipend benefits) on Internshala free of cost. Usually, the platform charges a fee to provide access to those registered.
- Internshala will also conduct workshops to prepare the students for internships.
- Colleges will be given the flexibility to track the performance of students in internships in the form of how much technical knowledge is gained by them.

CEO & MD of APSSDC, Mr. Satyanarayana pointed that the partnership with Internshala is one of the significant steps taken by APSSDC for enhancing the skills of the students across the state.
Founder & CEO of Internshala, Mr. Sarvesh Agarwal expressed that they were excited to be a part of Government of AP’s mission to train 10 million students in various skills by 2022.

During the year 2016-17, around 4,00,000 internships across varied streams were listed on Internshala with an average stipend of Rs. 7,500 per month. Around 40% students were also given chance to convert their internships to full-time employment.
