APSSDC Provides Drone Technology Training to Engineering Graduates
- APSSDC is providing free training for 100 engineering graduates in Drone Technology.
- The idea is to enhance the employment opportunities for engineering graduates.
The Andhra Pradesh State Skills Development Corporation (APSSDC) has been taking extensive measures to enhance the employability of engineering students in the state. As a part of its skill development activities, APSSDC has initiated ‘Drone Training’ for engineering graduates. A total of 100 engineering graduates of Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics streams were selected for the training programme in Drone Technology. The training programme is being conducted on the campus of Dravidian University, Chittoor District.
District Manager of APSSDC, Mr. Lokanadham revealed that Dravidian University was selected for its geographical location. The surroundings of the varsity are covered with hillocks, undulating terrains covered with forests and ridges. These surroundings will be very much useful for training the engineering graduates in Drone Technology, he explained.

APSSDC appointed two experts in Unmanned Aerial Devices (UAV) operations, Mr. Ajay Kotwal and Mr. Abhishek Chakraborthy as the trainers. Out of 100 engineering graduates selected for the training programme, seven were women. Andhra Pradesh is one of the rare states in India that provides training in Drone Tech.
The duration of the training programme is three months. The training programme is a blend of theory and practical classes on the topics such as drone piloting, drone assembling, data technician and data process. The idea of APSSDC is to train 960 engineering graduates. The first batch of the training programme began with 100 engineering graduates. The training programme will enhance the job opportunities for the engineering graduates.

After the successful completion of the training programme, the engineering graduates will be awarded a certificate. In the current scenario, there is a huge demand for engineering graduates with training in drone technology. Drone operators are necessary for agriculture, Municipal Corporation, real estate and other associated sectors.
