Around 93 Percent Students Took NEET in Kashmir

As per the report of Central Board of School Education, a large number of students from Kashmir took the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test held at three different designated centres in Srinagar on last Sunday.

The state government had provided all transportation as well as accommodation to all students appearing for the examination. Before that, the state government had ordered all District Development Commissioners across the Kashmir zone to ensure that, said an official of state government.

• Around 1,621 out of 1,740 students took the test from the curfew-bound Kashmir region.
• The rate of percentage for appearance was 93 per cent.
• It was higher than in peaceful Jammu region,that recorded 82 percent.

As the mobile Internet was not accessible at a large area of the region, students were provided facilities to download their admit cards. Hundreds of students had come to appear for interviews for the Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme scheduled to disburse Rs 75 crore this year, said a press release from Jammu and Kashmir government.

Under the scheme, students are provided up to Rs 4.5 lakh in aid who have been admitted to institutions across the country.
