The land of rising sun Arunachal Pradesh will get its first Medical College very soon. The Chief Minister of the state Kalikho Pul disclosed that his Government is putting all-out efforts to make the State’s first Medical College functional by next year.
The Chief Minister was addressing the media at a press meet in Itanagar. He was reviewing the progress report of the Medical College and Tomo Riba State Hospital at Naharlagun in addition to other health facilities. He asked the Department of Health & Family Welfare and the Noida-based executing agency, Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation Ltd to speed up the construction work of 300-bedded Tomo Riba State Hospital for the setting up of Medical College in the State.
The deadline for completion of construction of Tomo Riba State Hospital buildings with state-of-the-art medical facilities has been set on August 15. The Chief Minister asked the officials of the departments to ensure that procurement of the equipment is done by the same agency that will run the hospital.
The CM also directed the State PWD to start the process of tendering and construction of the 110-metre Bailey bridge over Parchin river and finish the construction of the bridge within one year so that construction work of medical college at Pachin Colony can be started soon.
