Ashoka University has begun with its application process for their Young India Fellowship programme. There will be three rounds of the admission process, wherein the applicants will need to complete the different processes. The admission process will end on 31st March 2020.
The applications to the Young India Fellowship (YIF) at Ashoka University has now been opened for the academic session of 2020-21. The Ashoka University opened its doors for receiving the applications for the fellowship programme on 20th August 2019 and the admission process will continue to 31st March 2020. The programme is a multi-disciplinary postgraduate diploma programme which will be conducted for a duration of one year.
Young India Fellowship (YIF) Application Process 2020-21
The application process for the Young India Fellowship (YIF) 2020-21 will be undertaken in three rounds. In other words, there are three rounds where the interested candidates will be allowed to submit their applications for the programme. Here are the details for the Young India Fellowship application process at Ashoka University.

- Last Date for Application Submission - 17th November 2019
- Round 2
- Applications Open from 18th November 2019
- Last Date for Application Submission - 2nd February 2020
- Round 3
- Applications Open from 3rd February 2020
- Last Date for Application Submission - 31st March 2020
Ashoka University Young India Fellowship 2020-21 Eligibility Criteria
Those interested in pursuing the fellowship programme will need to meet the Ashoka University Young India Fellowship 2020-21 eligibility criteria. The Young India Fellowship programme is applicable to those candidates with:
- A Recognised Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
- Age below 28 years as on 15th July 2020
Note:
Ashoka University has opened its doors to all candidates for the Young India Fellowship programme, which include candidates who have pursued their higher education in the vernacular language. However, it important for those candidates as well to be able to read and write in English, as the medium of instruction for the programme is English.

About Young India Fellowship (YIF) 2020-21
Ashoka University’s Young India Fellowship is a Liberal Studies programme that is intended to bring together a set of young individuals from all over India, who possess the intellectual and leadership capacity. They aim to train these individuals for the purpose of developing citizens of the country who are socially committed to bringing a change.
Through the Young India Fellowship, Ashoka University has aimed at guiding and training Fellows to becoming individuals with the capacity to critically think on different subjects. Along with this, they also aim to teach train the candidates with a purpose and commitment to public service by teaching them to view every subject from different perspectives and communicate their thoughts in an effective manner. The Young India Fellowship also provides successful students with full or partial scholarship schemes. The candidates who are interested in applying for the programme will not be asked to pay any kind of application fee.

The candidates who are contemplating joining the programme must note that the University has many international partners in the education field such as Yale University, Trinity College Dublin, University of Pennsylvania, University of Michigan, etc. They also offer experimental learning modules, wherein the Fellows are allowed to work in teams with different organisations in various disciplines.
