Assam Engineering College is all set to celebrate its 17th edition of Pyrokinesis, an annual cultural fest of the institute from tomorrow, the 16th of March to 19th of March, 2016.

An effort to showcase the technical as well as the cultural intelligence of youth, Pyrokinesis, seamlessly, comes every year with enthralling moments of euphoria for all AECians, whether passed out or present. The 4-day mega event is one of its kinds in the northeast and attracts creative minds from all over the states that, on a common platform, emerge to showcase their technical and cultural intelligence in a plethora of events.

Pyrokinesis 2016 will see a convergence of various reputed institutions of the state and will play host to a galaxy of star performers from the mainstream India.

AEC, one of the most premier institutes of the Northeast, takes pride in celebrating Pyrokinesis 2016, an extravaganza of its times with budding artists coming to perform from all over the country. It is indeed a legacy that follows in History of AEC.

CYNOSURE

Famous Singer & Musician “NAKASH AZIZ” will spark the stage with his hit numbers in Cynosure.

PYROTECHNIX: PROJECT METAL WAR

Pyrotechnix is a stage where rock and metal bands showcase their talent and battle out for the trophy. Pyrotechnix involves hardcore head banging, guitars screeching & thunderous drum rolls, injecting a dose of thrill and excitement to over 15000 crazy fans and die-heart metal heads. Pyrokinesis 2016 sure is set to give its audience goose bumps.

MARS AND VENUS

The most glamorous show of Pyrokinesis, Mars And Venus, is a personality contest, where participants are judged on their talent like singing, dancing, reciting, mono-act etc. followed by ramp walk. The show consists of a fashion show which is followed by some beautiful, sizzling models from reputed institutions.

FOOTLOOSE

A group dance competition, Footloose presents participants battling it out with their dance groove. It’s just, “Battle with your moves, defend your hood and let your foot loose......”

STACCATO: THE VOICE OF PYROKINESIS

Staccato is a solo singing competition which sees the participation of over a hundreds of talented voices every year and makes sure that their voice reverberates through the night. This year Staccato will be judged by our very own Zubeen Garg, the voice of Assam.

BORDOISILA

“Bihuti aandoror bihuti xaadoror Bihuti Axomor praan Enuwa bihuti eribo lagile Nathake Axomor maan”. Pyrokinesis presents the festival called Bordoisila-a celebration of ihu.

STREET BEATS: REVOLUTION 2016

“Those who dance are considered insane by those who can’t hear music”. Street Beats is an underground street battle between groups and solo participants where the participants show off their dance skills in the street to the tunes of DJ and experience thrill, excitement and a real battle to win the crown of the ultimate Street King.

PENTASYMPHONY

When Indian classical and folk music fuses with western music, then Pentasymphony is born. Pentasymphony is a fusion based band competition where musicians blend the pleasant Classical, the eclectic Pop and the divine Sufi to mesmerize the world with the power of music.

VIS-A-VIS

VIS-A-VIS, an interactive lecture session features eminent personalities from the fields of technology, entertainment, journalists, etc. who have led India through their stellar achievements. These intellectuals interact with the students, faculty members to enlighten and motivate them. In the previous years, VIS-A-VIS presented many well-known personalities from India like Mr Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-chief, Times Now and Dr Uday Kumar Dharmalingam, Assistant Professor, Dept of Design, IIT-G and creator of the modern rupee symbol, His Excellency Shri Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary, Governor of Meghalaya, Mr Jahnu Barua, eminent filmmaker, Dr Utpal Barua, International award winning artist, Mr. Naseer Khan-India’s top motivational speaker and Dr. Sanjukta Parashar, 1st lady IPS officer of Assam Cadre. This year Pyrokinesis is set to present another set of prolific personalities and stalwarts from different fields.

IRON MAN 2K16

It is a body building competition where participants showcase their well foiled and well-sculptured body. This event mainly aims to encourage the body builders of the region and continue the legacy of North-eastern body builders.

GREY MATTERS: THE QUIZZING ODYSSEY

Pyrokinesis & Quizzing club of Assam Engineering College presents Grey Matters- a quiz that has always been highly appreciated and liked by the quizzing fraternity of Assam. Race your brain, where only your 'Grey Matters'

ACOUSTIC ALCHEMY

“Music at its purest strikes a deeper chord“. Pyrokinesis brings to you Acoustic Alchemy- a musical extravaganza, aimed at showcasing budding instrument talents right from Strings to Folklore.

ECHOES

Echoes is the prestigious national level debate competitions in which we get to see a lot of young talents debating over their ideas and thoughts about some of the burning topics of today’s society.
