Australian Business Week 2017 for Indian Students: Online Training for Teachers on Agenda
- The Australian Business Week 2017 is currently underway with an objective to enable students to pursue quality education, particularly those belonging to rural areas.
- Digital online programmes are being conducted to train mentors who can further benefit the remote population.
With an objective to enable Indian students to pursue quality education at minimal cost, Australian Commission is currently conducting the Australian Business Week 2017 in order to enhance education through a digital platform. The Australian Business Week 2017 commenced on August 28, 2017, and will continue until September 1, 2017. As a part of this programme, a 170-member Australian business delegation is in India to take forward this initiative.
Stephanie Fahey, CEO of Austrian Trade and Investment Commission revealed that the primary objective of the commission is to deliver quality education to the rural and remote areas of India. The commission provides digital training to Indian teachers through digital learning resources, she explained.

She also indicated that the Australian Commission is in contact with private telecom companies in India to ensure smooth internet services that enable trainees to pursue online education without any kind of disruption. The trainees are equipped enough to access digital learning resources from any part of the country, she added.

She further explained that Australia currently hails the idea of pursuing online education along with jobs. A large number of people are enrolled in online programmes to gain in depth knowledge of various fields as per their interests. Witnessing its success in their native country, the commission planned to implement the same technique in India to train Indian teachers on professional grounds. In order to offer a varied range of courses on the digital platform, the commission has also tied up with an Australian University.
