B.A. Admissions in Delhi University to Consider 10 Extra Points for Indian Language
- Delhi University will award 10 additional points to candidates taking up Modern Indian Language in B.A course.
- June 07, 2018, is the last date to apply for UG courses offered by Delhi University.
The University of Delhi will award up to 10 additional percentage points in B.A course to the candidates who have studied MIL (Modern Indian Language) at the school level. If these students take up an Indian language in the B.A course offered by Delhi University, they will have an advantage of getting 10 additional points.
The MILs offered by Delhi University are -
- Bengali
- Telugu
- Urdu
- Tamil
- Punjabi
- Sanskrit

The additional 10 percentage points will be applicable for every applicant's ‘best of four’. For example, if an applicant opts for Hindi as MIL, they will have an advantage of getting up to 10% is expected to be given in ‘best of four’ in DU colleges where the modern Indian language is offered as one of the subjects.
The following are some of the top DU colleges that offer modern Indian languages as one of the subjects: -
Kirori Mal College awards 10 additional points to students opting Bengali as a subject in the B.A course, while Hindu College awards 07 additional points to those opting for Sanskrit. Usually, students will have to choose three elective subjects and one language in B.A course.

The officials of DU explained that the initiative was taken to promote the study of Indian languages at a higher level.
The online registration process for the admission to UG courses began recently, and June 07, 2018, is the last date to complete the online registration process.
