Due to the extreme weather conditions and waterlogging in several parts of Bangalore, school holiday for 23 October 2024 has been declared.
Bangalore School Holiday 23 October 2024: As the rains in Karnataka, especially in the nearby region of Bangalore continue, the state government has announced a holiday in all schools of Bangalore district for 23 October. Earlier, the district administration of Bangalore announced a holiday in all schools for 21 October 2024. However, the continuous rainfall has urged the regulatory authority to take a precautionary measure for Wednesday. IMD has issued a yellow alert in multiple districts due to high rain in the state. If the condition does not improve after tomorrow, the schools of Bangalore will remain closed after October 23. The meteorological department has issued a yellow alert for October 23 to 26 in Bangalore.

So far, 12 districts of Karnataka are listed under the ‘Yellow Alert’ by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). More cities are expected to be added to this list in the coming hours.
As per the latest update, all schools are directed to observe a holiday on October 23 in Bangalore. However, this decision is only taken for the Bangalore suburban area on October 23
However, the administration of some districts may announce a holiday in other districts in case of increased waterlogging.
