Barkatullah University (BU) to Introduce CBCS System for Better NAAC Grades
To achieve better grades from NAAC, BU is planning to implement the Choice Based Credit System in the university department. BU has already introduced the CBCS system in the engineering college BUIT.
Barkatullah University is planning to implement a Choice-Based Credit System for various courses from the upcoming academic year. The implementation of the CBC system is to achieve better grades from NAAC.
Currently, Barkatullah University has been allotted B grade under NAAC. With the implementation of the CBCS system, students will have an option to choose from the prescribed courses. These courses are usually referred to as elective/ minor/ soft skills/. Students can opt these courses as per their convenience and learn them at their own pace. The entire system is grade base on a credit system.
According to the university, the main of the Choice-Based credit system is to keep up with the industry trends and to keep students updated with the trends of higher education both in India and abroad. The CBCS system is accepted globally and allows students mobility to educational institutions both in India and abroad.

This move will also help BU earn better grades from NAAC. One of the senior officials said that BU has never received A grade from NAAC.BU has decided to implement the CBCS system which is a prerequisite for earning better grades from NAAC.

Yashwant Patel, Registrar of the varsity informed that they are planning to introduce the CBCS system. He informed that the same has already been in introduced in BUIT - the engineering college of the varsity. It will soon be implemented in the university department for the benefit of the students.
