BCI Grants Recognition to Law Degree Course Offered by University of Tasmania

Dean of Faculty of Law, University of Tasmania, Margaret Otlowski revealed that the recognition granted by BCI would enable the Indian students to take up law courses in one of the oldest varsities in Australia, i.e., University of Tasmania.

Bar Council of India has granted recognition to Bachelor of Law degree courses offered by the University of Tasmania. According to a report issued by the university, the students from India who wish to study in Austraila can have their law qualifications recognised for going forward with their legal career in India.

Dean of Faculty of Law, University of Tasmania, Margaret Otlowski revealed that the recognition granted by BCI would enable the Indian students to take up law courses in one of the oldest varsities in Australia, i.e., University of Tasmania. He extended his warm welcome to Indian law practitioners who wish to become the part of a wide alumni network of the varsity. He thanked BCI for granting recognition to law courses.

Students from various countries are coming to Australia to pursue law courses at the University of Tasmania, and the recent accreditation that is given by BCI will enable Indian students to join the varsity. The varsity assists the international students with special courses through which the students will excel in academics.

The staff at the University of Tasmania runs special tutorial classes for the international students to make them understand the context of Australian legal system. Through tutorial classes, the students will be given more information and assistance.

The candidates who are willing to practice law in India must qualify the five-year combined law degree at the University of Tasmania. Students will also have the option to complete a Bachelor's degree in India alternatively followed by a three-year law degree from the University of Tasmania.
