BCI to Announce the Final List of Recognised Law Colleges on 13th Sep'16
This delay is beacuse teh LEC did not submit the list on time.
On 13th September’ 16, the BCI i.e. Bar Council of India will announce the list of colleges that have agreed and will be working according to BCI norms and rest of the colleges who are not agreeing will be debarred from the counselling process. BCI is the sole regulating authority for law colleges and it only affiliates those colleges that follow the norms. The BCI wanted to announce the list earlier for the applicant's convenience but the LEC short for Legal Education Committee which is Allahabad-based scheduled the list to be announced in the BCI meeting on 13th September only.

Colleges are still allowed to apply for recognition if they are able to fulfil the norms of BCI then they will be added to the list. But the students will not be able to change their preference but the list will clear all the mist of confusion for sure. The delay from the LEC is resulting in an additional delay in admissions. PILs against BCI are also delaying the process which ironically are asking BCI to speed up the process. Notice has been issued by the Bombay High Court asking BCI to find solutions to decrease the time taken for admissions. It is the month of September and counselling has not even started yet.
