Belgium Team Visits Acharya College of Education for UG Education Courses
- A group of five teacher trainers, including 3 from Belgium, visited Acharya College of Education.
- The topic of discussion was B.Ed Programmes and ways to make them more competent.
To come up with Bachelor of Education programmes for different levels, a group of five teachers of the Members of the India Platform visited the Acharya College of Education. Out of these five eminent teachers, three were from Belgium.
The teachers visited Acharya College of Education on October 30, 2017, to discuss the Primary & amp; Secondary Education courses under the Bachelor of Education programme.
Following are the five members that visited Acharya College of Education:
- Mrs. Anne Cardinael (India Platform - resident in India)
- Ms. Jolien Vandebroek (India Platform, Belgium)
- Mrs. Nele De Gersem (deputy director India Platform, Belgium)
- Mr. Sandeep Shetty (India Platform - India)
- Ms. Gayathri Devi (CIRSH, SDM Ujire, researcher)
Various aspects of the education programme were discussed at the meeting. These included the presentation of B.Ed Programme covered by Acharya College of Education. A demonstration of the teacher training in Belgium was also given by Mrs. Hilde Van Dooren.
A question-answer session was also conducted to clear the doubts and propagate information clearly. Amongst other things that were discussed included ways to reduce gap between theory and practice, how to achieve competence, successive progress, stimulating creativity, management, discipline, assessment and evaluation practices.

Acharya College of Education is also considering various joint research projects. The same was discussed with Mrs. Hilde Van Dooren, Teacher Trainer. Other matters of discussion with the expert included collaborations at student as well as institute level, to encourage all-round exposure.
