Bennett University Launches Times School of Media to Offer Journalism & Mass Comm Courses
Times Group, the leading commercial media group in India launches Times School of Media to conduct UG and PG Level courses in Journalism, Mass Communication and Digital media. Students will be given skill-based learning opportunities.
Situated in Technzone II in Greater Noida, the new journalism institute named Times School of Media has been launched under Bennett University which belongs to the Times Group itself. With the aim of training budding journalists for the future and teach the changing face of journalism, this institute has been introduced.
The Times School of Media has all modern facilities such as video studio, multi-camera production capability, video editing labs, and e-learning equipped classrooms. The Times School of Media aims to prepare students not only as per the norms of traditional media but also make them capable enough to understand the potential of new (digital) media. The method of teaching in the institute will be contemporary that will benefit both the students and the faculties to understand emerging trends in Media.
The media programmes that will be offered in the institute will be conducted differently for Hindi and English mode of teaching journalism. The courses in Times School of Media includes BA in Journalism and Mass Communication (English & Hindi), 1-year Postgraduate Diploma in Digital media (English and Hindi) and 1-year Postgraduate Diploma in Business Journalism. The Institute believes that the students will not come for the sake of degree there but also for acquiring skill-based knowledge.
There will be three eligibility criteria on which the admissions will be conducted:
- Marks acquired in 12th (Graduation marks for PG diploma courses)
- Performance in the entrance examination
- Performance in the personal interview
In the institute, the students can learn filmmaking, video editing, blogging, advertisement campings, public relation campings, blogging and a spectrum of the nitty-gritty of the media business.

Faculties who are experienced and are stalwarts of the Indian media industry will be taking the classes to give the maximum exposure to the students. People who played the key roles behind the brands of Times of India, Economic Times, Crickbuzz, Gaana, Radio Mirchi will be taking classes regularly in the institute.
