Bhutan Delegation Meets IIE Guwahati and FICCI

The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) Guwahati and Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce (FICCI) jointly organised an interactive session with a 35-member delegation from the Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies (RIGSS), Bhutan recently in the IIE auditorium.
Laying emphasis on the North-East region, the delegates shared possible scope and opportunities for mutual benefits for both the countries in terms of trade and commerce in the meeting.
IIE Director, Manoj Kumar Das delivered the welcome address and mentioned that Bhutan has a high per capita income and so is happier than India. The North-east region and Bhutan have been neighbours and have always maintained a healthy relationship with each other. “This renewed focus on understanding and building relationship with the north-east is a timely and welcome step, he said.
The Bhutanese delegation included noted administrators, policy-makers, department heads, educationists, and businessmen etc. Head of RIGSS, Bhutan delegation Chewang Rinzin and Tashi Wangyal, addressed the gathering. This gathering included representatives from media, academia, policy makers, industrialists, tour operators, photojournalists, social activists, officials etc.
A presentation on NE-Bhutan economic scoping was headed by Biswajit Chakravorty, Head, FICCI, North-east. Also, Dr. Sripana B Baruah, faculty of IIE spoke on the activities of IIE and possible benefits that Bhutan can gain from the institute.
