Bihar Board Exams 2018: 1,000 Students Debarred for Cheating
- The Class 12 Bihar Board Exams for the year 2018 concluded on February 16, 2018.
- Over 1,000 students and 25 fake examiners were caught indulging in mass cheating.
The Bihar Board Exams for Class 12 students were concluded on February 16, 2018. This year, over 1,000 students were debarred for cheating or indulging in malpractices during the exams. Chairman of Bihar Board, Mr. Anand Kumar informed that the number of students expelled this year was more. Apart from these students, the board also caught 25 fake examiners. An FIR (First Information Report) has been lodged against guardians for helping their children to cheat in exams, he added.

This year, the Board Exams in Bihar took place in a fair manner. There was very little scope for cheating and mass copying during the exams. The board will take strict action against those who resorted to cheating. This year, the exams were conducted across 1,384 centres in the state. Over 12 lakh students have appeared for the board exams this year.
Apart from the strict measures, the board have also changed the exam pattern. Over 50% questions in Class 10 and Class 12 question papers were objectives.

The board also changed the duration of objective paper for intermediate students. The exam pattern was changed mid-way, i.e., after the commencement of exams. As per new pattern, the board directed the students to complete the objective paper in the first hour of the exam. The new changes ensured more transparency during the exams.
On the lines of CBSE’s Pre-Exam Counselling, Bihar board also conducted pre-exam counselling for students in December 2017. Subject-matter experts answered to the queries of students over the phone.
