Bihar: Universities & Colleges to Provide Free WiFi to Students
The free wifi facility is to help students with their studies, assignments, research and project works.
Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar, announced that all the universities and colleges across the state would provide free wifi to students from February 2017. He clarified that free wifi will be provided only for studies and not for any other purpose. The initiative is being taken to help the students with their studies.
He exhorted that the priority of the government is to develop overall personality of youth. Recently, the government has announced interest-free loans to students for higher studies after class 12. On the other hand, the government is also taking steps to provide Rs. 1,000 monthly allowance for two years to students who are in search of a job.

He indicated that there exists a necessity to provide courses in English and computers to enhance the personality of youth and make them industry fit. The courses will enhance the chances of getting jobs further.
Recently, Mumbai University also announced that it would provide free wifi to the students. However, the officials of the varsity clarified that some of the websites will be blocked for access on the campus. The free wifi facility is to help students with their studies, assignments, research and project works.

Similarly, most of the state governments are planning to provide free wifi to students. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, announced that the government would provide a broadband connection at a minimal cost of Rs. 150 per month. Students hailed the decision taken by the government. The work for providing broadband connection is underway and will be launched soon.
