BITS Pilani-Hyderabad 8th Convocation, 921 Students Awarded Degrees
The 8th convocation ceremony of BITS Pilani-Hyderabad was held on August 04, 2019. 921 students received degrees at the convocation of BITS.
BITS Pilani-Hyderabad campus organized 8th convocation ceremony for 2019 graduating batch on August 05, 2019. This year, a total number of 921 students have been awarded degrees at the 8th convocation of BITS Pilani & Hyderabad. Among the students who received degrees, 744 were undergraduates, 149 were postgraduates and 31 candidates were Ph.D graduates.
Apart from the degrees, some of the students were awarded medals for excelling in academics. Some of the students who received medals for their outstanding academic performance are -
- Anirudh Srinivasan (Gold Medal)
- V. Thejas (Silver Medal)
- Bhavsar Neel Hiteshbhai (Bronze Medal)
- Sangi Manish Rao (Bronze Medal)
During the 8th convocation ceremony of BITS Pilani-Hyderabad, 87 higher degrees from the WILP (Work Integrated Learning Programmes) were also awarded. This year, Akila Krishnakumar received BITS Distinguished Alumnus Award.
Addressing the graduating students, Chancellor of BITS, Dr. Kumar Mangalam Birla advised the students to confine themselves to a life of learning.
Vice-Chancellor of BITS, Mr. Souvik Bhattacharyya advised the graduating students to choose the right path to which he/ she can make a positive impact on the lives of people. The chose path of students should make some positive impact on society and contribute to the national development, he added.

Govardhan Mehta (UoH Distinguished Professor) encouraged the graduating students to utilize the available emergent opportunities in the best manner, blend knowledge streams and nurture entrepreneurship to enjoy self success.

During the 8th convocation ceremony of BITS Pilani-Hyderabad, a report on achievements of BITS in the 2018-19 session was presented by Mr. G Sundar, Director of BITS.
